Shedding

Sometimes we need to shed all the things that we carry around and wear on a daily basis. You wouldn't wear everything in your closet at the same time, so why do it in your mind?

Shed the person who raged at you on the road because you made an honest mistake. Shed the one you raged at as well.

Shed the comments that your mom/sister/dad/brother/wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/ex/friend said that really upset you today.

Shed the crap that your coworker/boss/employee/colleague put on your plate to handle.

Shed the regrets and the anguish. It doesn't do any good.

Shed the hell of today or this week.

Shed the hurtful things they said to you in middle school that, for some reason, you still believe.

Shed the pain of last year.

Shed your tight shoulders, clenched teeth, and shallow breathing. Sometimes you don't even realize you're doing it.

Shed all that anxiety and worry over what may or may not happen.

Put all these things away in your mental closet. You have the opportunity every day to change that wardrobe. Perhaps it'll be a small change. Perhaps you'll do a complete makeover.

Shed the old you. Today you are the new you. Tomorrow you'll be a new you again.
